Garnett "Woody" E. Campbell Jr.
January 26, 1936 – February 20, 2015

Garnett E. “Woody” Campbell, Jr., 79, of Madison Heights, went home to be with his heavenly Father, Savior, and family, Friday, February 20, 2015 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Eva Keller Campbell for fifty-nine years.
Born January 26, 1936 in Lynchburg, Woody was the son of the late Garnett E. Campbell, Sr. and Evelyn Ogden Campbell and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Louise Campbell Brooks and Norma Jean Campbell Royer and a brother, Donald Ray Campbell. He was a retired machinist and tool & die maker with Delta Star for more than thirty years and was a past President of Local 2173, I.B.E. W. Union. Woody was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and attended Lynchburg City Schools. He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church since 1971.
In addition to his wife, Woody is survived by two sons, Glenn Campbell and wife Suzanne and Jeffery R. Green, all of Madison Heights; a sister, Elsie Ann Campbell Barrett and husband Oscar of Rustburg and three grandchildren, Alexis S. Campbell, Nicholas A. Campbell, and Daniel A. Roberts; a brother-in-law, William Royer; a sister-in-law, Merry Campbell and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor J.D. Surbaugh, Jr. and the Rev. Steve Esterline officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church, Tuesday, February 24, 2015, for one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
