William Carson Goodman

William Carson “Billy” Goodman, 83, of Lynchburg passed away on Tuesday, February 07, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. He was the loving husband of the late Lois Elliott Goodman. Born on August 5, 1933 in Bedford County, he was the son of the late Booker Carson Goodman and Hortence Laughlin Goodman. Billy graduated from New London Academy in 1951 and served our country in the United States Army. He owned and operated Goodman Automotive and he enjoyed going to flea markets, car shows, especially Pigeon Forge Tennessee car shows, reading the message board, riding his trike motorcycle and fishing with his buddy Roy. Billy attended Rock Pike Baptist Church. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Florence Witt, Geraldine Saunders, Arlene Wilson and Cathy Laughlin and brother, David Goodman. Billy is survived by his daughter, Teresa Watson and husband Mike of Forest; sister, Phyllis “Trudy” Treadway of Altavista; significant other and caregiver, Daisy Hill; grand-dogs, Mollie and Braxton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor John Sines, Jr., Assistant Pastor Sam Stump, and Troy Simmons officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park. Military honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 16.
