Violet Joyce Creasy

Violet Joyce Layne Creasy, 76, of Lynchburg passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born in Lynchburg, July 21, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Carlton Layne and Annie Maude Walker Layne. She retired from Craddock-Terry Shoe Corp. after 34 years of service. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Creasy; two sisters, Lois L. Stinnett and Patsy L. Jamerson and one brother, Charlie David Layne. Survivors include her sister, Gloria L. Coleman of Lynchburg; her step-son, Michael E. Creasy of Lynchburg and his daughters, Melissa Dillon and Kathy Catron and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Fitzgerald officiating.
