Ruby Ayers Foster

Ruby Ayers Foster, 82, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Maynard Presley Foster, Sr. for 54 years.
Born July 26, 1933 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Hallie Homer Williams and the late Florence Ayers. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jenny Crawley and three sisters, Etta Hamlett, Peggy Mayberry and Sarah Wilson. Mrs. Foster was a loving and devoted wife of 54 years, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Mrs. Foster is survived by two sons, Maynard P. Foster Jr. and wife Sue of Lynchburg and Mike Foster and wife Amy of Rixeyville; one daughter, Mary Booker and husband James of Gladys; one son-in-law, Dennis Crawley of Lynchburg; one Brother, James Conn and wife Barbara of Lynchburg; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Kathleen Paul’s office and Centra Hospice that assisted in the care of their loved one during her final month. The comfort and compassion shown to us all during this difficult time has been a real blessing.
