Mildred Cyrus Rosser

Mildred Cyrus Rosser, 87, of Rustburg, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Fairmont Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Thomas Edwin Rosser.
Born in Campbell Co., she was the daughter of the late John William Cyrus and the late Hattie Lou Franklin Cyrus. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary R. Lindsey, seven brothers, Thomas Cyrus, Edward Cyrus, Albert Cyrus, Russell “Dot” Cyrus, Jesse Cyrus, John “Dick” Cyrus and Otis Cyrus and one sister, Mary C. Litchford.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Megan L. Swain and her husband, Jeff, of Concord; one sister, Annie “Sis” C. Morris and her husband, James of Rustburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mildred was a faithful member of New Chapel Baptist Church and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
The family thanks the staff at Fairmont Crossing for all of their love and care for Mildred.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 26, 2017 at New Chapel Baptist Church in Rustburg with Pastor Tim Dooley officiating. Interment will follow in the New Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2017, at New Chapel Baptist Church and at other times at the residence of Megan Swain, 328 Moore Dr., Concord, VA 24538.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Fairmont Crossing Resident’s Council Fund, Attention: Rita Napper, Fairmont Crossing, 173 Brockman Park Dr., Amherst, VA 24521.
