Whitten Timberlake Chapel
Hubert Perry Moore, 70, of Rustburg, died
Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Lynchburg
General Hospital. He is the husband of
Debra McCrickard Moore.
Born in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late
Hubert Moore and the late Jewel Wilkinson Moore.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded
in death by one brother, Jon B. Moore.
Perry was a member of Rustburg Baptist Church
and the retired owner/operator of Granny’s Cleaning
Service. He was a former employee of the Norfolk
& Western Railroad and he served his country in
the U.S. Army. He was a quiet and peaceful man
who enjoyed children and was an avid book reader.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son,
Kerry Moore of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters,
Stephanie Beck of Richmond and Babette Moore
of Holmes Beach, FL; a stepdaughter, Tracy Coates
of Forest; one brother, Tommy Moore and his wife,
Sandra, of Fincastle; one sister, Ann M. Bailey and
her husband, Gene,”Mickey” of South Boston and
five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m.,
Monday, December 26, 2011, at Whitten
Timberlake Chapel with the Reverend W.
Richard “Rick” Cole, officiating. Interment
will follow in the Moore Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m.,
Monday, December 26, 2011, at Whitten
Timberlake Chapel.
