Obituary of Charlotte Rossman Bathurst
Our dear mother, Charlotte Rossman Bathurst, was welcomed through Heaven’s gates on Monday, October 2. Although we miss her terribly already, we know that her husband, our Dad and Pap-Pap, was there to scoop her up in his arms and welcome her home! During her 93 years on this earth, she lived a full life. As a nurse, she served at Bell Hospital and at the infirmary at William and Mary. She loved her family and God, and she was proud to be a charter member of Grace Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Va. Mom was truly the matriarch of our family — she was so proud of all three of her children, Karen, David, and Amy. She also adored her grandchildren, Heidi, Robby, Morgan, Helen, and Jeffrey, and her great-grandchildren, Katie, Belle, Makayla, Peyton, Marley, Michael, and Joshua. In addition to loving her family, she made many, many friends along the way. She loved to visit, walk, and swim, and she stayed very active, walking a mile almost every day until very recently. Active as she was, she rarely missed watching a Nationals game — or an episode of Jeopardy! Those of us left behind will miss her hugs, her sweet giggle, and her spunk. Yet, we know she’s been reunited with the love of her life, her sisters, her parents, and many other loved ones who have gone on before her. As she was known to say, “It is well with my soul.” We will be having a private ceremony later this month. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to either of the following: • Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188 • Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, CHKD Philanthropy Office, Post Office Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501, https://secure.qgiv.com/for/chkd
