Blanche Lewis Ford

Blanche Lewis Ford, 78, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday January 4, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Welton Howard Lewis and Ruth Cyrus Lewis. Born September 12, 1945 Blanche was lovingly raised by her great aunt Pearl Lawhorne, and was well known for her energetic spirit and everlasting energy. Above all she was a family oriented woman. Blanche served as the Matriarch of her entire clan, and lived to be there for her family. She was completely in love with her kids and especially her grandkids. In addition to her parents Blanche was preceded in death by her loving husband Minor Parrish Ford, Sr.; and her siblings Fred Lewis and Sue Roberts. Those left to cherish Blanche’s memory include her children, Minor “Nicky” P. Ford, Jr. (Tina), Brian L. Ford (Michelle Thomas), Kristy F. Kennedy (Doug); her grandchildren Anna, Whitney, Cory, Jenna, Taylor, Emily; her great grandchildren Ava, Trinity, Penelope, Isaac; her siblings Marie Carwile (Paige), Kenneth Lewis (Karen), Welton Lewis (Loretta); her dear friend Annie and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Blanche’s life will take place Wednesday January 10, 2024 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel at 11:00am with Pastor Stephen Willis officiating, with a graveside service following at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends the night prior to the service at Whitten Timberlake from 6-8pm.
