Bernice Frances Cooper, 98, of Lynchburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. She was the loving wife of the late Douglas Helmer Cooper.
Born on May 1, 1920 in Lynchburg, she was the last of 9 children by William Oscar Hudson and Nona Frances Eubank Hudson. Bernice took pride in being a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved flowers, crafts, her family and church family, and life in general. She was a member of The Church of God on Leesville Rd.
Bernice is survived by her sons, Doug Cooper and wife Sue, Sherwood Cooper and wife Phyllis, and Van Cooper and wife Roxanne; five grandchildren, Zane Cooper, Melanie Hogan, Michelle Edwards, Mindy Boyd, and Todd Cooper; 11 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6 pm on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service till 8 pm. A private interment will be held at Virginia Memorial Park.
