Alice Ashley Ashley Burnette

Alice Ashley Burnette, 88, of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Albert Anthony Burnette. Born March 18, 1927 in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Annie Giles Ashley and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lunsford A. Ashley and H.T. Ashley. She was a retired Mailing Department Manager with Tri Tech and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston. Mrs. Burnette is survived by her son, Albert Timothy Burnette and wife Tessie of Lynchburg; her daughter, Gloria B. Jamerson of Campbell County; a sister, Dallas A. Allen of Charlottesville; a granddaughter, Pamela D. Jamerson and her special friend, David Smith; two step-grandchildren, D.J. and Tiffany West and three step-great-grandchildren, Zack, Kayla, and Dalton; four sisters-in-law, Gloria Ashley, Nancy Ashley, Cornelia Lindsay, and Frances Omasta and many special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, with the Rev. John Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2015 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
