Obituary of Linda Finch
Linda L. Finch, 71, of Liberty died on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Whitewater Commons Senior Living. Linda was born in Connersville on December 25, 1944, the daughter of John and Dorothy Thompson Reed. Linda attended Brownsville and Liberty High Schools and on May 6, 1962 she married Bill Finch in Liberty. Before beginning her battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Linda was an excellent bowler and played in two leagues. Her highlight came when she rattled off seven consecutive strikes in one of her league games. She also enjoyed baking all sorts of goodies. Candy, cookies and cakes were some of her favorites but she really liked to make her home made dinner rolls. You could also find her running the roads as she became an avid jogger in her spare time. It was nothing for her to put in two to four miles a day. She would also challenge anyone to a good game of Euchre or sit back and watch a Cubs game with you. Most importantly, she loved her family immensely, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. In addition to her husband of fifty four years, Linda is survived by three children and their spouses: Joe Finch and wife, Kelly of Liberty; Jerry Finch and husband, Mark of Grove City, Ohio; Julie Finch of Liberty; brother: Raymond Reed and wife, Carol of Converse, Indiana; sisters: Karen McClain and husband, Berry of Liberty; Patty Hines of Connersville; Peggy Turnbull of Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Angela Marie. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty with Tyler Moore and Father John Leurman officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 where memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
