Lavon "Bonnie" Waddell

Lavon "Bonnie" Waddell, 93, of Kokomo, passed away at 1:10 PM Tuesday June 5, 2018 at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. Born February 27, 1925 in Deputy, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Griff Whitsett and Stella (Kemper) Whitsett. She married Max Martin and he preceded her in death in 1965. Then in 1967, she married John William Waddell who preceded her in death on June 21, 2006. She was a homemaker and a mail carrier who enjoyed sewing, reading, and was an accomplished painter. She was a former member of Windfall United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She also loved her dog "Precious".
Bonnie is survived by one daughter Kris (Steve) Wunderlich of Kokomo; one step-daughter Jan Ashton and husband Dale Palovich of Florida; one step-son John Waddell; five grandchildren Brad (Audrey) Wunderlich, Travis (Christy) Wunderlich, Robin Sawdy, Brady (Julie) Martin, Joe (Dana) Martin; two step-grandsons Danny Jackson and Rhett Reynolds; two step-granddaughters Kim Castner and Dawn Waddell; six great grandchildren Braden Wunderlich, Donas Hanken, Stephanie Martin, A.J. Martin, Amanda Sawdy, and Antonio Martin; also 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Tony Martin, and one brother Malcom Whitsett.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday June 11, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Richard Olson will officiate. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall, Indiana. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday at the mortuary.
