Kimberly Sue Powell

Kimberly Sue Powell, 49, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on September 1, 2022. She was born on November 8, 1972 in Kokomo, IN the daughter of Clarence "Doc" Gilvin and Carolyn Sue Hand (Simmons). Kim attended Western High School. She worked at Frittatas Restaurant for 18 years. Kim loved Halloween, watching scary moves and pulling pranks on family members. She enjoyed going to Planet Fitness, keeping up with her tan and going on walks. Kim also enjoyed going out to eat with her mother and step-father and going on long rides with them. She adored her granddaughters Braeleigh and Zila. Surviving relatives include her son, Tyler Powell (fiance Macy Riley) of Kokomo, IN; granddaughters, Braeleigh and Zila Powell of Kokomo, IN; mother and step-father, Carolyn Sue and Art Hand of Kokomo; sisters, Mary Roller (Brad) of Bunker Hill, IN; Shelly Breen (Buck) of Kokomo, IN; Lisa Shepherd (Dave) of Russiaville, IN; Tammy Shuey (Matt) of Kokomo, IN; cousins, Scott Shuck, David Shuck; Andrea Ratcliff; Mary Beth Busby; nieces and nephews, Josh Shepherd; DJ Shepherd; Bethany Wheeler; Courtney Lathrop; Taylor Rink; Trelanie Weirauch; Toria Adams and several aunts, uncles, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence B. Gilvin, son Dalton Smith and her grandparents Clarence and Goldie Gilvin and Thomas and Mary Simmons. Funeral services will be 5:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2022 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2022 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
