Emery L. Cupp, Sr., Kokomo, 88, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born June 10, 1922, in Claiborne, Tennessee, to William L. and Nora R. (Day) Cupp. On May 18, 1948, he married Maxine Keck, and she survives.
He served in the United States Army during World War II working in the hospital. He loved blue grass music and played in a band called the Cornpickers. He was a graduate of mechanics college and was very good at fixing things and working with his hands.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, Maxine Cupp, he is survived by his son, Rodney Cupp; daughter, Sheena Bowman and her husband Kip; and five grandchildren, Jennifer Nachriener, Rebecca Dempsey, Jacob Cupp, Mitchell Cupp, and Bethany Cupp.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Emery L. Cupp, Jr.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Kerry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be made at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
