Obituary of Courtney Ann Nicholas
Courtney Ann Nicholas, age 38, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away at her residence on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Courtney was born on April 22, 1985 in Kokomo, Indiana. She is the daughter of John V. Nicholas and Pamela K. (McCollum) Nicholas. Courtney was the third miracle baby the Nicholas family was blessed with. She has always been a fighter. At age 2 1/2, she was diagnosed with diabetes. In 2018, Courtney became a pancreatic transplant recipient. Courtney was a strong advocate for organ donation. She was a 2003 graduate of Kokomo High School. In 2012, she received her associates degree in criminal justice. In 2016, she received her Registered Medical Assistants degree. Courtney leaves behind her pride and joy, her only son, Amaree Nicholas, who she loved with every breath she took; also surviving, are her parents, John and Pam; her brother, Joshua, and her sister, Whitney. They were always the best of friends and there for each other. She also leaves behind her closest friend, Stephanie Smith. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Richard J. and Anna E. (Schwarck) McCollum and Vestal R. and Marjorie (Kinney) Nicholas; her beloved cousin, Aimee Romero; her aunt, Kathy Leep; and uncles, John McCollum, and David Melville. There will be a time for visitation Tuesday, August 29, from 4pm-7pm, at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster St. Kokomo. There will be a brief time for visitation at St. Joan of Arc Catholic church, Wednesday, August 30, from 10am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11am.
