Obituary of Cherry Hopkins
Cherry Hopkins, 75, of St. Louis, MO and Kokomo, Indiana passed away on September 6, 2022. She was born on April 23, 1947 in Forest City, Arkansas the daughter of Theodoris Hopkins and Orberee Mosby. Cherry loved the Lord with all her heart and enjoyed singing His praises in church and all around. She was nice and kind and loved by everyone she met. Cherry was always helping others. Cherry started singing as a child in Forest City at school where she so proudly wore dresses made by her mother. She was the eldest of twelve. She sang all the time everywhere. She loved to sing and was invited to perform at many churches, concerts and may occasions throughout her life. She loved the Lord and lived for the spirit everyday praising and thanking God every day of her life. Cherry was well loved by so many. Not only was she a beautiful person on the outside, her inner beauty was immeasurable. She was so full of the spirit she glowed when she spoke of the Lord. A wonderful, funny, quick witted, classy woman. She will be greatly missed. She was equally kind to everyone in her presence and made everyone welcome. She lived most of her adult life in Saint Louis, MO where she is well known and has many friends and acquaintances. Cherry worked for 30 years as a surgical instrument maker for Bausch & Lomb Storz in St. Louis, MO where she retired in 2005. She worked hard all her life but what gave her the most joy was singing, praising the Lord, studying, practicing and spreading the Word. She loved to laugh and make jokes and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved all her family and often shared stories of her childhood and the fun she had. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Linda Hopkins of Indiana; son, Anthony Hopkins of Missouri; brother, Booker Heard (Barbara) of Illinois; Kirk Mosby of Arkansas; Kevin Mosby of Arkansas; sisters, Vernia Mosby of California; Kimberly Heard of California; Paulette Baron of Kentucky; Brenda Robinson of Arkansas; Jackie Hurd of Texas; Brenda Robinson of Illinois; Tawanda Mosby of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Robbye Heard of Tennessee grandchildren, Ryan; Tony; Ashley; Whitley; Trayon; great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and a abundance of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Cedric Vaughn Hopkins, brothers Lee Ottis Heard and Bruce Heard, sister Sandra Mosby. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2022 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery Kokomo, Indiana. Visitation will be 12:00 - 1:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2022 at the funeral home.
