Walter "Walt" Frederick Meyer

Walter "Walt" Frederick Meyer, age 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 19, 2020. He was born on January 19, 1938 in Indianapolis to the late Frederick and Lillie Meyer. He graduated from Franklin Central High School. After high school, Walt served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958. He married Irma J. Moeller on June 3, 1961. Walt was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He was an avid sports fan and he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Walt is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Irma J. Meyer; three children, Steve (Mariann) Meyer, Sandy (Dave) Schmidlin and Sherri (Tim) Back; ten grandchildren, Victoria (Zack) Hadley, Nathan Schmidlin, Mitchell Meyer, Nick Schmidlin, Alexandria Meyer, Neil Schmidlin, Katie Back, Morgan Back, Avery Back and Carson Back; and siblings, Ed Meyer, Alva Meyer and Kathleen Reilly. Walt was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Ruth Bowden. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home - Indianapolis, 4901 E. Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
