Steven B. Smith

Steven B. Smith aged 66 of Indianapolis, Indiana departed this life on May 5, 2022, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Steven was born in Orange, New Jersey to Willie and Lois Smith on October 3, 1955. He attended school in Orange New Jersey and College in South Dakota. He was married to Lucille Coleman on August 24th, 1985, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sergeant Steven Smith provided 33 years of service as a police officer for the Indianapolis Police Department. Steven also served as a volunteer football coach at Broad Ripple and Manual High School for several years. Steven is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Willie H. Smith and mother, Mrs. Lois A. Smith. Steven is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lucille C Smith; Son, Steven B. Smith Jr.; Brothers Douglas (Robin) Smith, Richard Smith, and Anthony Smith; Sister Jacqueline Smith; mother-in-law Mrs. Louise Coleman; brother-in-laws Lonnie Jr (Maggie) Coleman, Elane (Dolores) Coleman, Kennedy Coleman, Terry Coleman, Anthony (Tonnica) Coleman; sister-in-law Aloys (Leon) Tucker, Fannie (Jewell) Sims, Carolyn Briggs, Bernetta Coleman, and Beverly (Michael) Strickland. Steven treasured the time spent with his favorite nieces and nephews. Steven was also preceded in death by his Father-in-law, Mr. Lonnie T. Coleman Sr., brother-in-laws Mr. Glen Coleman Sr., Mr. Joe Briggs, and Mr. James Howell; sister-in-law Dorothy Coleman. Private Family Memorial Services will be held Tuesday May 10, 2022, at Crown Hill Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Visitation with Police Honor Presentation will be 12pm to 2pm at Crown Hill Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Funeral Home.
