Patsy Ruth Miller

Brownsburg, Indiana, died on July 10th at Avon Health and Rehabilitation. She was 81. She was born Patsy Ruth Blickenstaff in Shobonier, Illinois on September 4, 1932. She spent her childhood in Illinois before moving to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1950. Patsy then received her nursing degree from Indianapolis General Hospital (now Wishard) in 1956. She married Norman Miller of Indianapolis, IN on March 22, 1957 at Emaus Lutheran Church. As a registered nurse, Patsy worked at Indianapolis General Hospital (now Wishard), Hendricks Community Hospital and Lakeview Manor Nursing Home, from where she retired in 1997. She was a member of the Wishard Nurses Alumni, and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church (ELCA) of Brownsburg. In addition to her husband, Norman Miller, Patsy’s survivors include her children Michael Miller (Sherry) of Burnsville, Minnesota; Melanie Miller Hauser (Dennis) of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Mark Miller (Stephanie) of Sussex, Wisconsin, and two grandchildren, Alec Hauser and Benjamin Hauser. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Clara Blickenstaff. Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 in Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, starting at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
