Patricia "Patty" Ann (O'Connell) Dreiband

Patricia (Patty) Ann O’Connell Dreiband, 86, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on September 15, 2024 in Indianapolis. Patty was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Dennis and Marguerite O’Connell on August 10, 1938. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne where she was an athlete in intramural dodge ball, softball catcher and a 1956 Indiana State Fair Baton Twirling Champion. She was also a great bowler who loved to bowl with her grandchildren. Patty worked as an Administrative Assistant where she wrote in short hand and typed 100 WPM. Patty was the proud mother of 8, grandmother of 25 and great-grandmother of 8. Patty was extremely proud of her Irish heritage and passed on her passion for all things Irish to her family. Patty’s strong Catholic faith enhanced her positive and joyful outlook on life with her Patty-isms of “The best is yet to come” and “Stay sturdy and strong.” Patty is preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael O’Connell, her beloved son David Dreiband, granddaughter Noelle Grace Bohnet and grandson John Patrick Holden. Patty is survived by 7 of her 8 children Kathleen O’Connell, Eric (Laura) Dreiband, Debbie Dreiband, Rachel (Eric) Bohnet, Sandy (Viren) Chauhan, Kristina (Jim) Holden and Mark (DeNay) Dreiband. Grandchildren Ray Kimball, Abigail Fontilus, Mary, Sarah, Megan & Joe Kimball; Madeleine, John & William Dreiband; Quinn, Connor & Luke Dreiband; Elizabeth (Nick) Edwards, Daniel, Sam (Kate) & Caleb Bohnet, Rebekah (Ben) Wortinger; Raj & Ashwin Chauhan; Kaitlyn & Dane Holden; and Jack & Duke Dreiband. Great-grandchildren Franny & Gabby Fontilus; Eloise, Sophia & Ambrose Edwards; and Caroline & David Wortinger, and Hendrix Saint Taylor-Kimball. A public visitation for Patricia will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237. A Catholic Mass will occur Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady Of Peace Cemetery Chapel: 9001 Haverstick Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46240 with a burial to follow.
