IN THE CARE OF
Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery
I entered this world on a winter day in Indianapolis, Indiana, December 27, 1978. My journey led me to embrace various roles, including one in Senior Living where I found my stride in administrative work. Prior to that, I had the privilege of contributing to the Hungry Minds Book Company as a dedicated publisher. My passions were diverse – from writing and music to dance and acting. Along my educational path, I walked through the halls of Elementary School #81, Thomas Carr Howe Middle School, Broad Ripple HS, Lawrence North graduate, IUPUI. Among my proudest moments were my involvement in big sister program, a college sorority and being part of a dynamic dance team.
My family formed the bedrock of my life. My mother, Darlene Merriweather, and stepfather, Jesse Merriweather, were constants in my journey. My sister, Diana, affectionately known as DD, and my brother Rob filled my life with laughter and love. Marvin Link, my brother-in-law, added his own unique presence to our family dynamics. My extended family included cherished cousins Martia, Jaylin, Chakira, Tony, and Andy. I held my niece Jasmine and nephew Deonta close to my heart. My aunts, Pauline and Linda, and my uncle, Darrel, were integral parts of my life.
My path led me through both triumphs and struggles, shaping me into the person I became. I wove bonds that could not be broken, infusing every connection with meaning and depth. My love for art, love itself, and the profound experience of relationships became a hallmark of my life. My spirit was a blend of vibrancy and vulnerability, lighting up gatherings with my competitive spirit and quick wit.
A unique trait of mine was my unyielding pursuit of truth and fairness. My commitment to always being "right" showcased my unwavering convictions. Family held an irreplaceable place in my heart, and every moment spent with loved ones, whether grand or simple, was cherished. My affection even extended to my pets, Lilly and Joey. I found joy in movies, dance, art, drawing, politics, and the music of the 80s and 90s. My December birthday added warmth to holiday celebrations, and the little surprises and gestures in life brought immense joy.
But my heart was most full when surrounded by my nieces, stepsisters, nephews, cousins, and, of course, my siblings. The love I felt for each of them was unending, a love that knew no bounds. Though my physical presence has transitioned, my memory will remain alive in the hearts of those who knew me. My legacy of love, peace, laughter, and family bonds will continue to guide the ones I leave behind.
