Obituary of Margaret Ann Crisp
Margaret Ann Roesinger Crisp 72, of Indianapolis, IN, peacefully departed her life at home on Sunday, July 15, 2012. Margie defied the odds by surviving two previous bouts with cancer. She never lost her positive attitude, energy and commitment to the family and friends she loved so dearly. Margie was born July, 11, 1940, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Carl and Irma (Gallagher) Roesinger. She is a graduate of St. Agnes Academy, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Butler University. Margie was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Hillcrest Country Club Women’s 18-hole Golf League, Riviera Swim Club, Indianapolis Racquet Club, Indy Aquatic Masters Swimming, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College Alumnae Associations, Children’s Bureau and past president of the St. Vincent Hospital Guild and WFYI (Channel 20) Guild. Margie was also an avid swimmer, tennis player, golfer and runner. Margie’s greatest joy was rooted in teaching others. She began teaching swimming lessons when she was 16 years of age at Riviera Swim Club, after a distinguished swimming career on the Rivi swim team. Margie has touched countless lives over the past 40 years as a tutor providing guidance and support to ensure every individual achieved their greatest potential. Margie had a unique ability to instill in children and young adults the value of a strong work ethic and a commitment to being the best they can be. Margie is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Robert A. Crisp; loving children Elizabeth-Anne Crisp King (Chris) and John A. Crisp (Kristin); grandchildren, Catherine, John, and Michael King, Joseph and Patrick Crisp; siblings, Stephen J. Roesinger (Marjorie), Mary Beth Adams (John), James C. Roesinger (Mary); and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to: the IU Simon Cancer Center – Dr. Sledge’s Breast Cancer Research.
