IN THE CARE OF
Leppert Mortuaries - Nora
Lynne Diane Hirschman, 61, loving daughter, sister and friend, passed peacefully on March 21, 2022. She was born on April 10, 1960, in Indianapolis, the oldest daughter of Robert Burr and Janis Kaye Hirschman. A 1978 graduate of North Central High School, Lynne attended the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, earning a BS in biology with a minor in music in 1982. At William & Mary, Lynne was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, an organization with which she continued to share her many talents and leadership skills throughout her life.
Following her undergraduate studies she received an MS in physical therapy, with thesis, in 1984 from the University of Indianapolis’ Krannert School of Physical Therapy. During her tenure at Krannert Lynne received two peer-elected awards and one of eleven nationwide APTA Mary McMillan Scholarship Awards.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Lynne continued her educational and spiritual growth with graduate courses at Christian Theological Seminary as well as becoming one of the first 40 Certified Practioners of Esoteric Healing in the United States in 2013. Some of Lynne’s many accomplishments include membership in the International Coaching Federation, designation as a Certified Professional Coach and as an expert Physical and Craniosacral Therapist. Her most recent life adventure was as a House Director for a sorority at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.
Lynne graciously served her community through the years. Some of her favorites were volunteering at the Humane Society for Hamilton County, participating as a choir member in a variety of church and school organizations, serving as an invited speaker at numerous physical therapy health events, leading various church youth and choir groups and serving as a children’s facilitator with Breaking Free, a counseling and support group in Indianapolis. In her spare time Lynne enjoyed sailing, swimming, walking, singing and playing the piano and organ.
Lynne is survived by her mother, Jan Hirschman; sister Kaye Hasewinkel and her husband Tom and their children Abby (Michael) Murray (Emma and Griffin) and Leah; and brother Scott Hirschman and his wife Betsy and their children Michael, Sarah and Will.
The family would like to thank Doug Ferrer, Compassus Hospice and Marquette Health Center and close friends for their care and compassion.
