Jacqueline Renee Jenkins

Jacqueline Renee Jenkins, lovingly referred to as ‘Jackie’, was born in Indianapolis, IN on December 25, 1962 to Robert H. Jenkins and Charlene P Jenkins. Jackie obtained a formal education through the Indianapolis Public school system and graduated from Arlington High School the year of 1981. Jackie furthered her education at Indiana Business College earning a certification in Business Administration. Jackie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Indianapolis, IN. After completing her college education Jackie secured employment at Stokely Van Camp, then Indiana Insurance for several years. Jackie later transferred employment to IU Medical Group and later Adult & Child Medical Services. Jackie learned to play cards from her parents and at family gatherings you would find her at a card table playing the card games she loved such as Dad, Bid Wiz and Spades. Jackie loved various types of music and could name to Artist and song just by listening to a few of the lyrics. Jackie loved to cook and gladly accepted requests from family and friends asking her to make their favorite soul food dishes such as Oxtail soup. And let’s not forget about her famous pot of neckbones. Jackie absolutely loved to travel and taking long road trips. Not too big on doing the driving but you could always count on her to ride with you to keep you company. Jackie possessed a special gift of jewelry making. She would think of a design and make it. If you owned a special piece jewelry and needed a repair Jackie could repair, it for you. Jackie was strong, confident, independent, and absolutely loved and protected her family. The earthly life of our beloved sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and neighbor ended on Monday, January 17, 2022. She was preceded in death by her Father, Robert H. Jenkins, and her mother Charlene P. Jenkins. One brother, Gregory A. Jenkins. Jackie leaves to cherish her memory brothers, Will Henry Dickson, Greenwood, MS; Xavier K. Jenkins (Jamila), Clearwater, FL; and Sisters, Donna J. Robertson, Glenda A. Jenkins; and Robin L. Jenkins all of Indianapolis, IN. A host of Aunts, nephews, great-nephews, nieces, great-nieces, cousins, and friends Service for Jacqueline will be held, 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Overcoming Church, 2203 Columbia Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, with visitation held from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm, all taken place at the Church. Interment will follow at Sutherland Park Cemetery, 4201 Millersville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana.
