Hershel Lee Knight, age 90, of Mooresville, Indiana passed from this life on November 17, 2022.
Hershel was born on July 5, 1932, to the late Edward and Mary Knight in Indianapolis, Indiana and served in the United States Marine Corps. He married the love of his life, Mildred on May 14, 1965. Hershel enjoyed a long career with Indianapolis Power and Light and once retired, he and Mildred enjoyed traveling, attending flea markets and restoring and selling antiques. He was also an avid fisherman and spent many days and vacations on the water with his nephew, Frankie Mack, doing what he loved. Hershel was a member of St. Thomas More Parish in Mooresville for the last 15 years.
Hershel was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Knight, his wife of 47 years, Mildred, brothers and sister, Charles, Joseph and Josephine. He was also preceded in death by daughters, Lila Burris and Barbara Worden.
He is survived by his step-son, Richard Gaither (Janelle); son-in-law, Joe Worden; grandchildren, Laurie Filsinger (James), Christopher Worden (Erica); Lisa Neville (Phil); 7 great-grandchildren, Katy, Alyssa, Gabriel, Michelle, Shelby, Remi and Raelin and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Alan and Shelia Morrow, Thomas and Lynsey Morgan, Bill Bryan and all of his other neighbors and friends for the years of loving care and assistance that they provided to Hershel.
