Obituary of Harry Vernon Haynes Sr.
Harry Vernon Haynes, Sr.(1933 - 2019) passed peacefully in the early morning with his family by his side on June 21st. 
 He was born to the late Maude Thompson Haynes and John Edgar Haynes in Covington, VA. Harry served our country in Korea as a US Army Ranger from 1952 through 1957. While in the service and stationed in Italy, Harry met the woman with whom he would go on to share an extraordinary life. He ultimately married Soledad "Sally" Demen and they settled in Chicago, IL upon his return from active duty. Harry and Sally later relocated to Windfall, IN where they have been the proprietors of Beaver Point Campground for the past 30 years. Many campers have come and gone over the years, several of whom became good friends to Harry and Sally.
 Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Maude and John, and brothers Richard, Jack and Raymond. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sally; his brother Frank, his children, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many other beloved family members who remained close to Harry throughout his life. 
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 3 PM Saturday, July 6, at Beaver Point Campground, 10162 E 500 S, Windfall, IN 46076.
 In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to VFW Post 5782, Elwood, IN.
