Dwight was born to Mildred Anderson Jarrett and Willie Peterson, Sr. on September 24, 1954. He was a graduate of Westside High School in Gary, Indiana. During his High School years he excelled in baseball and basketball. He was view as being a "star" player and received many awards.
Dwight, affectionately called "Sarge" or "Andy", confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Dwight joined the United States Army and served for 30 plus years until he retired in 2010.
Dwight was preceded in death by his father Willie Peterson, his sister Helen Darlene Scott, his brother Gregory Lee Anderson, his maternal grandparents Victor and Lydia Anderson and both paternal grandparents.
Dwight left this earthly domain and went on to glory to be with our heavenly host on January 19, 2019. He leaves to cherish his memories; his devoted wife, Tanya Lee Anderson of Beaumont, TX, his much loved mother, Mildred Anderson Jarrett of Gary, IN, brothers Terrich Peterson and Torrance (Keisha) Andrews, sister Debra Ann Isaac of Ft. Myers, FL, sons Dontee' L. (Charity) Anderson, Christopher M. (Jennifer) Anderson, Dwight D. Anderson, Jr., daughters Tiffany N. Anderson, Jadon Taylor of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Dontee' Anderson, II, Gabrielle Anderson, Keyshon Davis, Michaela Anderson and Avery Anderson all of Indianapolis, IN; great grand-daughter Raelynn Anderson and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
