Chuck Culver age 80 of Indianapolis, passed away June 4, 2018 at Manorcare at SummerTrace in Carmel. Born April 9, 1938 in Indianapolis. Son of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Downey) Culver, he was a proud alumni of Shortridge HS Class of 1956, and Indiana University where he was a member of Sigma Chi. After serving in the army, Chuck had a successful career in the advertising world which included roles as Executive VP and Creative Director at Hanley & Miller, Sr. VP at Carlson Advertising in Indianapolis, owner of Associated Advertising in Salinas CA, Creative Dir. at Solem & Assoc and President of Culver Worldwide in San Francisco. He was also the writer of a nationally -syndicated TV show GAME WARDEN WILDLIFE JOURNAL His passion was writing however and he was the author of two anthologies of poetry, two short story collections and four novels as well as many published short stories and essays. He was the host of "Bookends" a radio talk show on WFYI-FM.
Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents, brother John, and longtime companion Carol Kappel. He is survived by his brother Tom (D.J) and family of Marietta, GA, two daughters Kim (William) Sobat of Southern Pines, NC and Beth(Mike) Bundy of Carmel, and 4 grandchildren Sarah & Ben Jones and Anna & Willie Sobat.
