Johnny R. Eddingfield

John R. Eddingfield, 75 of Huntington, passed away on Thursday afternoon October 27, 2022 at the Parkview Regional Medical Ctr. in Fort Wayne. John had worked at Deb’s Auto Parts in his younger years, later he worked at Square D and American Hoist. Most recently, he worked for Shuttleworth in Huntington for over 25 years until his retirement. John was a 1966 graduate of Huntington High School. He was a member of the New Hope United Brethren church and the Huntington County Sheriff’s Disaster Team. John was a train enthusiast and collected model trains. He was an avid NASCAR fan and followed Mark Martin. John enjoyed going to the casino, DIY TV and projects and was a jack-of-all-trades. He was a prankster and dearly loved his grand and great grandkids, following them in all they were involved in. John was born on May 3, 1947 in Huntington, the son of the late Delbert and Dorothy (Slagel) Eddingfield. He was united in marriage to Charlene Jennings on December 17, 1966 in Roanoke. Survivors include his wife Charlene; a son Jon (Tammy) Eddingfield of Huntington; two daughters: Charmaine (Mac) Gray of Warren and Tara (Marc) Sells of Huntington; Eight grandchildren: Cory (Brandi) Feltner, Raven (Justin) Davidson, Kelsy (Derek) Roberts, Taylor Pursifull, Selina Feltner, Garrett Girvin, Austin Eddingfield and Briley Gray; and Seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Huntington. Memorial donations can be made out to the New Hope United Brethren Church or to the Huntington County Sheriff’s Disaster Team.
