Helen R. Bollinger Hollenberg
December 9, 1932 – February 27, 2013

Helen R. Hollenberg, 80 of North Manchester passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Timbercrest Senior Living Community in North Manchester. Helen was a graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School in Oak Park, Illinois. She was also a graduate of Manchester University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education; she received her master’s degree from University of St. Francis. She was president of Fort Wayne Branch of International Reading Association, Fort Wayne Chapter of Association of Childhood Education, Past Guardian of Fort Wayne Job’s Daughter’s, and a member of Trinity Chapter Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing the piano, attending plays and musicals with her husband, Robert and enjoyed traveling all over the world. She enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren at the lake. While in Fort Wayne she was a member of the Lincolnshire Church of the Brethren, while living in Florida, she was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church.
She was born on December 9, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Wilbur R. and Margaret (Delk) Bollinger.
She was united in marriage to Robert L. Hollenberg on February 5, 1955 in Chicago. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include two sons: Gene (Pam) Hollenberg of Nappanee, IN; Bill (Amy) Hollenberg of Fort Wayne; a daughter: Cindy (Jan Eshleman) Hollenberg of Mountainair, New Mexico and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Louise Swihart.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Timbercrest Senior Living Community Chapel, 2201 East Street, North Manchester, Indiana.
A celebration of life service will be held on March 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. following visitation at the Timbercrest Senior Living Community Chapel with Pastor Kurt Borgmann and Pastor Karen Eberly officiating.
Memorial donations can be made out to Shriner Children’s Hospital, Oak Park Illinois, Manchester University or to Englewood United Methodist Church, Englewood, Florida all in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750.
