Jesús María Gaeta Del Real

Jesús María Gaeta Del Real (Don Chuy), age 95, passed peacefully in the morning of March 9th, 2022 in his daughter’s home in Griffith, IN. He was born September 12, 1926 in Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico to parents, Jesús María and Juana. He was the youngest of eight and had many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Rita, and his son Salvador, and daughter Delia. He is survived by his youngest daughter María Guadalupe and her husband Santiago, as well as his grandchildren, Brenda, Leonardo (Esmeralda), Jimena, Jesus, and his great-grandson Santiago. He lost his father at a young age. He married his wife Rita, and they moved from his hometown to the big city of Guadalajara and finally to Tototlán, Jalisco. He lived there for over 50 years surrounded by friends who became his family. He moved to the U.S. in Nov. 2015 where he happily enjoyed the rest of his life, with his daughter, son in law and their children. He kept a beautiful garden and he loved watching soccer and rooted for his favorite team Las Chivas. He had an enormous faith and he contributed that to his long life. His services will be held in Tototlán, Jalisco, Mexico. Mass will be held March 19th at 5PM in El Santuario del Señor de la Salud. He will be laid to rest next to his wife and children in his town of Tototlán. There will be a memorial mass in St. John the Evangelist (Day Chapel) 11301 W 93rd Ave, St. John, IN 46373 on Saturday, April 2nd at 10AM.
