Nancy Lee Flippo, 82, a resident of Dayton passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at her home.
She was born in Harrisonburg on April 5, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Russell Ollie and Beulah May Black Pence.
Nancy was a graduate of Harrisonburg High School and lived her entire life in the Harrisonburg area. She was a bookkeeper for Charles Wampler and Son’s at Sunny Slope Farms before retiring. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi.
She is survived by a sister, Doris Hardegree of Harrisonburg; a sister in law, Mary Ellen Pence of Harrisonburg; and nieces and nephews, Russell Pence of Weyers Cave, Toni Pence Blackwell of Colorado, Kathy Kirtley of Harrisonburg, Dale Kirtley of Utah, Brenda Parsons and Linda Hartman both of Harrisonburg; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews, and a special friend, Jack Hamrick of Harrisonburg.
Nancy and the late Harry Flippo, were preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Flippo. Nancy was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Lorraine Hartman; and a brother, Harold Eugene Pence.
The family will receive friends 7-8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 5, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, November 6, at the Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Paul Collins officiating. Burial will be private at Woodbine Cemetery.
