William Kater Lasala

He was affectionately known as Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Bill, and Uncle Bill. At nearly 92 years of age, he reflected on a life well-lived. Surrounded by a loving family that included his wife of 42 years, Lois, two daughters—Janet and Linda—son Bill Jr., stepson Don, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, he cherished every moment. He enjoyed going out and staying active, valuing family gatherings for birthdays and holidays, attending his grandchildren's sports events, and assisting in his granddaughter's salon. To many family friends, he was simply Grandpa. In his earlier years, William served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Upon returning to civilian life, he embarked on a successful career in the computer defense industry. He lived in Buffalo, NY, where he ultimately retired as the CEO of Comptek Research. After retiring early, he and his wife relocated back to Virginia, where they spent many years traveling across the country in their RV. A devoted Buffalo Bills fan, he enjoyed attending live games in his younger days and watching games on television. In later years, he shared his life with his companion Judy. Some of his favorites were spaghetti, dining out, and watching game shows and Hallmark movies. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Parklawn Wood Memorial Park, located at 2551, N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA 23666.
