Viola Toon, age 81, of Newport News, Virginia passed away on Monday July 8, 2019. Viola was born July 31, 1937 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to Eva Herndon and Robert Clifton Herndon, Sr.. Viola's family includes her husband, Leon Toon; daughter Cynthia Diane Dagenhart; and son Charles Edward Toon; father Robert Clifton Herndon, Sr. and mother Eva Herndon; brother Robert C. Herndon, Jr., brother Joseph M. Herndon, brother Herbert L. Herdon, brother Ralph C. Herndon, brother Charles W. Herndon, brother Dodd C. Herndon, brother Larry P. Herndon, sister Naomi Holley, sister Tris Barker, sister Marjorie Doss, sister Thresa Mable Toon and sister Audrey L. Landrum; granddaughter Nancy Hope Dagenhart. A visitation for Viola will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia. A celebration of life service will follow the visitation on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12:00 PM, at the funeral home. The interment will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia.
