Susan Marie Vest

Susan Marie Whitt Vest, 62, a native of Wise, County, VA and 47 year resident of the Peninsula, went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, June 16, 2010. She worked for C&P Telephone for 15 years and was self-employed for 25 years. She was a member of Northside Christian Church for 38 years; where she taught adult and children’s Sunday School and facilitated a women’s Bible Study. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Lillian Bishop Whitt. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 41 years, Eddie H. Vest; her daughter, Amanda K. Vest; two sisters, Sheila Whitt Beehler and her husband, Bruce of Florida and Carol Whitt of Hampton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM on Friday, June 18 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Susan’s life will be at 11 AM Saturday, June 19 at Northside Christian Church, 1300 E. George Washington Hwy., Yorktown, VA 23693. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northside Christian Church’s Journey Forward.
