Rosie Marie Barts
February 3, 1942 – May 2, 2023
IN THE CARE OF
Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosie Marie Barts, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 2, 2023.
She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Hampton, Virginia. She was 81 years old.
Born in Richmond, Virginia the oldest of 9 siblings, to Emma and George Weeks, she was the beloved mother of Debbie Carroll, Donna Barker and Bobby Barts, mother-in-law to Beth Barts and Rick Barker, proud grandmother of Joshua Childress, Ashley Childress, Nicholas Barts, and Emma Rose Barts. Loving great-grandmother to JJ and Maddie Childress.
Rosie lived a full life as a wonderful mother, waitress, restaurant owner, worker in the convenience store and in-home assisted care for seniors industries.
She loved people and took every opportunity to help others. She suffered hardships in her life but ensured her children were always taken care of and had the opportunities to succeed.
Rosie was a kind soul but also was a strong independent person who would not back down from what she believed in. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in them a strong set of values that have served them well. Good people do good things for others, period.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Rosie’s life will be held at Parklawn Funeral Home 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666 on Sunday, May 7, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider donating in her name to the National Alzheimer’s Association through https://www.alz.org .
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Barts family.
