Obituary of Leo Francis Blake Jr.
Leo Francis Blake Jr., age 83, of Hampton, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Leo was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts to Grace Harris and Leo Francis Sr. Leo lived in Malden, Massachusetts for most of his life and served in the Air Force Reserves after high school. Afterwards he spent the majority of his years working for AAA Travel and All Service Electrical, as well as a few Medical Transportation companies. Leo made the move from Massachusetts to Florida back to Massachusetts and eventually moved to reside in Hampton Roads closer to his family. Leo was an active and dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Church in Hampton, Virginia and was part of many organizations to include the Knights of Columbus and the Newport News Citizen's Fire Academy. Mr. Blake was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children Catherine Ann Blake; his wife Jeanne Zaninno-Blake; his mother Grace Harris and his brother Joseph Blake. Leo is survived by his son Christopher Blake (Lisa) of Hampton, Virginia; his daughter Elaine Williams (James) of Galax, Virginia; and his daughter Katheleen Pokraka of Falmouth, Massachusetts; his brother Richard Blake, his sister Regina Wilson and his brother Frank McGah. Mr. Blake also leaves behind his seven Grandchildren, two Great-Grandchildren and many, many friends and family. A funeral mass for Leo will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2150 Cunningham Drive, Hampton, Virginia 23666. Leo will be laid to rest at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St, Peabody, MA 01960 with a date for burial to be determined.
