James William Green
November 23, 1946 – May 30, 2011

James W. Green, 64, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011. He was a native of Rescue, Virginia and had been a resident of Hampton for 35 years.
James served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war. He retired as MSGT after 20 years of service, during which time he earned the Commendation Medal. He continued his career as a wind tunnel technician for NASA and retired January 1, 2011 after 20 years of service. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and spending time with his grandchildren.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Dargon and Malvina Green; and sister, Betty Jean. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Linda F. Green; son, David L. Green; grandchildren, Taylor and Travis Green; brother, Paul E. Green; and sister, Naomi Wills.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of life service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
