Frances "Katie" G. Ross

On July 24, 2015, surrounded by her family, Frances “Katie” Comer Ross left for her heavenly home. Katie was born October 22, 1930 in Shenandoah, Virginia. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Leda Comer; brother, Jesse Comer; and son, Warren Z. Ross. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James A. Ross of Hampton; sons, James (Rhonda) and Dale (Lisa); daughter-in-law, Linda; brothers, Matthew, Tony, and Calvin of Shenandoah, VA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, and a wonderful friend. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Katie’s life will be held at Noon on Wednesday, July 29, at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Brown officiating. Entombment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
