Obituary of Martha Mae McCammon
Martha Mae McCammon, 96, of Greensburg passed away November 17, 2024. She was born on November 16, 1928 in Rushville, Indiana the daughter of Russell and Mildred Foster. Martha was a 1946 graduate of Sandcreek High school. On September 21, 1947 she married Leon McCammon and together they had two children: Susan and Mark. Martha worked as the secretary for Chitwood Appraisal Service for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church Greensburg and was the Secretary for the United Methodist Women’s Ruth Circle, as well as a member of Tri Kappa and the Home Ec Club. Martha loved going on walks to connect with nature. She spent countless hours cooking and baking for her loved ones. Martha looked forward to Christmas every year because that was when everyone in her family got together to see each other. She was a frequent visitor of the Amish style restaurant, Das Dutchman Essenhaus, in Middlebury, Indiana. Survivors include: daughter, Susan McCammon (Jeff Krueger); son, Mark McCammon (and family); grandchildren, Nickolas and Spencer McCammon; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her brother, Robert A. Foster; and her granddaughter, Holly McCammon. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral at 11:00 am. Pastor Ted Chalk will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or The United Methodist Church Greensburg.
