James Elden Hill

James Elden Hill, 86 of Greencastle, was born into eternal life September 3, 2016.
Mr. Hill was born September 3, 1930 to Daniel Boone and Ethel Mae Hill, he attended Ben Davis High School and served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Following his service in the US Navy, Mr. Hill returned to Indianapolis in 1961 when he purchased his family’s long-term care facility, Lynhurst Healthcare, where he worked until his retirement in 2008.
He was a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Greencastle, was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, and was also active in the Lions Club.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine; brother, Jeff Hill; sister, Mary Hill; children, Diana (Joe) Bewley, Nelene (Gary) Reisinger, and James E. (Anyawee) Hill, Jr.; step-children, Catherine (Daryl) Sturgis and Leonard Fusco; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel, Morris, and Johnny Hill; step-son, Lawrence Fusco, and granddaughter Katie Lyn.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 pm, Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 8 in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greencastle, IN. Burial with Naval Honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Indianapolis.
