Ethel Marie Jordan

Ethel Marie Spears Jordan, 91, of Greencastle passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Ethel was born in Poland, Indiana on April 7, 1933, the daughter of Lee Edward and Agnes Irene (Allen) Spears, and was a 1951 graduate of Brazil High School. She married Junior Ray Jordan on January 26, 1957.
Mrs. Jordan was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, and several bowling leagues. She worked with Farm Bureau for six years, before going to work at IBM. She left IBM to take care of her family. When her children were grown, she began working in the Business office at Putnam County Hospital where she worked for seven years until her retirement. Ethel loved to travel on Turner Bus Trips, she enjoyed gardening, canning, camping, and bowling on the IBM Bowling League. She was a lefty. She sang in the church choir and participated in skits. Ethel was very active with her grandchildren and attended most of their events.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Junior Jordan; her two children, Kevin Ray Jordan, (Susi), and Debra Hanstra, (Bob); four grandchildren, Matt, Andrea, (Philip), Robin, (Ramy), and Tony, (Emily); nine great-grandchildren, Cody, Emilee, Mac, James, Jordan, Leila, Brooks, Elliot, and Coen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three siblings, Roy Spears, Mary Landes, and Betty Hudson.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Monday July 15, 2024, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Davies officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
