Emma Jean Wood

Emma Jean Wood, 86, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. Born July 1, 1936 in Groveland, IN. the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (Jarnigan) Wood. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School “Class of 1955”. Emma had retired from DePauw University where she had worked in food services for 42 years. She was a member of the Hanna St. Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Marie Knudson and Geraldine Goss; and brothers Albert, Odell, and Norman Wood. Emma is survived by sixteen nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Brick Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
