Hal Wade Cooper, age 72, of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Stafford Hospital.
Hal was born August 31, 1950 in Fredericksburg, VA, to Madge Defane Cooper and Emmitt Gordon Cooper. He was a Veteran who served as a Specialist Four in the United States Army from July 16, 1970 to February 4, 1972. He really loved to go fishing and his favorite spots to go were Lee’s Campground, Hope Springs and Aquia Creek. He was a big sports fan and loved the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed sitting around and watching traffic go by the house in his chair in front of garage or going to City Dock and watching the water. He enjoyed watching the wildlife and feeding all outside animals. He also enjoyed going out to breakfast every weekend with his friends.
Hal is survived by his wife, Lynda Herndon Cooper; daughters Melanie Newton (Chris) and Cristal Helton (Kendall); son Cory Cooper; granddaughter Carleigh Newton; and his fur babies Mila and Oakley.
Hal was preceded in death by his father Emmitt Cooper, his mother Madge Cooper, and sister Starr Wilson.
A visitation for Hal will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mullins &
Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
