Roger Jay French, 94 passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home. Born in Linn Grove, Adams County, Indiana on December 22, 1919 he was the son of the late Earl D French and Clara B (Miller) French. Roger graduated from Lafayette Central High School Class of 1937. He was a life time farmer and really had a love of nature. Besides farming, Roger owned an Insurance Agency, a Real Estate Brokerage Firm and was retired from Navistar in Fort Wayne. Roger enjoyed watching sports, especially Indianapolis Colts Football and Purdue Basketball. He had a great pride in being a member of the Waynedale Masonic Lodge for 50+ Years, and was also a member of the Waynedale Methodist Church. Roger is survived by the “love of his life”, Annabel J. (King) French, his wife of over 71 years . Survived also by son J. Lynn (Vicky D) French, daughter-in-law Cynthia (Hanes) French, grandchildren: Laura French ,Thomas French, Christina(Larry) Rutledge, Angela Grubbs , Jennifer French, and Sarah French, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by brother Vaughn French (Texas) and sister Berneil (Harold) Amstutz, son Thomas J French and grand-son-in-law Daniel Grubbs.
Services will be at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Rd. Ft. Wayne at 11:00 am Saturday, December 20, 2014 with calling one hour prior. Calling also on Friday, December 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 with a Masonic Ceremony at 10:30 Saturday .
