Obituary of Robert E. Eash
Robert E. Eash, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at home with his family by his side. Born May, 8, 1927 in Elkhart, Indiana, he was a son of the late Daniel B. and F. Hazel (Young) Eash. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army in which he served in Germany for nearly two years. Upon returning from Germany, he attended Indiana Central College. He was married to the love of his life, Dolores “Gus” (Wedge) Eash on August 12, 1950. He was the owner of Farlow Tool & Die for 27 years, from which he retired. He was an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church for nearly 30 years before relocating to the north side of Fort Wayne where he became a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church for the last 13 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts. Bob enjoyed gardening, the Chicago Cubs, and carpentry in which he finished two homes. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 ½ years, Dolores “Gus” (Wedge) Eash of Fort Wayne; daughters, Christine (Eash) Smith of Fort Wayne and Karen (Eash) Wells of Boca Raton, FL; sons, Tom (Jessica) Eash of Fort Wayne, John (Kelly) Eash of Hamilton, MI, and Andy (Tammy) Eash of Fort Wayne; 20 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Dan, David, and Doug Eash; sisters, Helen Woodward, Frances Lyon, and Joanne Holderman; granddaughter, Megan Eash, and great-granddaughter, Norah Follrod. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be 2-4 & 6-8pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road., Fort Wayne, with a Rosary Service beginning at 2pm. Burial at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Riley Hospital for Children.
