Richard “Dick” Millhouse, 90, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born January 13, 1927 to Nelson and Marie (Hower) Millhouse. Dick was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U. S. Army Air Corp. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 1988 with 37 years of service. He married Wilma Jean Palmer May 29, 1948 and he loved and cherished their 63 years together. Dick and Wilma were the first couple married at St. Therese Parrish. She preceded him in death in 2012. Dick was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 296. He was a devoted supporter of athletics at Bishop Luers and the University of St. Francis. He lived life to the fullest. Surviving are his three sons, Gary (Doty), Greg, and Jim (Phyllis); sister, Betty Campbell; eight grandchildren, Eric (Jamie), Matt (Jessie), Brad, and Michelle (Matt) Gerardot, Cheryl Lyons, Cecelia, Zack (Tasha) Adams, and Jennifer (Daniel) Galle; and eight great grandchildren, Isabel Millhouse, Jake, Brady and Palmer Gerardot, Ethan and Owen Lyons, and Addie and Macie Adams. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gilbert and Nelson. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 2 to 8 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home Funeral Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be given to Masses, the Bishop Luers Athletic Department or the University of Saint Francis Athletic Department.
