Obituary of Monte Lee Winebrenner
Monte Lee Winebrenner, 66, of Huntertown passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. A man of incredible strength, loyalty, and work ethic, he spent the last forty years of his professional career as an estimator and project manager for SPS Corporation, and loved driving through Fort Wayne and pointing out his projects. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. An avid sports fan, Monte bled black and gold and was a Boilermaker above all other teams. Monte was also a man of many hobbies including golf, travel, family photo albums, and jamming out to classic rock, most specifically Kansas, who he has seen live over 30 times. Nothing was a greater joy to Monte than his family who will miss him terribly starting first and foremost with his wife of nearly 43 years, Amy J. (Kramer) Winebrenner; children and their spouses, Heidi Jo (Rusty) Fanning of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jayme Lee (Darren) Yates of Fort Wayne, Anthony Richard (Erin) Winebrenner of Huntertown, Brent Michael (Vanessa) Winebrenner of Fort Wayne, and nephew, Adam (Tabitha) Craig of Fort Wayne as well as eight grandchildren, Brycen, Cameron, James, Autumn, Daxton, Maddox, Margaret, and Marilyn. Nothing brought Monte more joy than to watch his grandkids play sports, play in the band, or just play in the pool. They were the pride of his life along with his kids. Monte will be missed also by sisters, Myra Craig and Mary Rugg as well as half siblings Lisa Winebrenner, Martin Winebrenner, Kirk Swinehart, Michael Reily, many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, grand nephews and nieces, sister and brother-in-laws, and close friends that he considered family. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Kaye Martin Winebrenner and Marilyn Swinehart, step-father Dick Swinehart, brother, Mark Winebrenner, sister, Martha Winebrenner, and brothers-in-laws, Fredrick Craig and Melvin Rugg. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 5, 2022 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family, which will in turn be donated to the Stavreti Scholarship for Northrop High School Baseball.
