Michael Ervin Schieferstein

MICHAEL E. SCHIEFERSTEIN, 66, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his home from cancer. Born June 14, 1947 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late William and Delores (Berry) Schieferstein. He retired in 2010 from Zimmer Inc., Warsaw, as a Sales Training Manager. He loved I.U. sports, fly fishing and was a former Snider High School football coach. Surviving are his wife, Lana Schieferstein; children, Jeff (Tonya) Schieferstein, Emily Schieferstein, Betsy (Nick Schatko) Schieferstein and Julie Schieferstein; grandchildren, Jenna and Katie; father, Robert Williams; siblings, John (Penny) Schieferstein, Gary Schieferstein, Tim (Carol) Schieferstein and Gail (Steve Okolski) Schlatter; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Snider High School Football Program or to Turnstone.
