LOUISE M. SCHOTT, 93, a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, after a brief illness. Born July 27, 1920, in Fort Wayne, she was the only child of Mary and Alfred Phillips. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church where she attended grade school before graduating from South Side High School. Mel and Louise met while teenagers and were married on Aug. 22, 1939, at Zion Lutheran Church. They were married for over 74 years and jointly managed Anthony Wayne Printing Company for over 30 years until their retirement in 1982. After retiring, they enjoyed traveling and became "snowbirds," wintering at Woodlands Lutheran Camp near Orlando, Fla. for 18 years. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was a resident at Lutheran Life Villages. She is survived by her husband, Melvin A. Schott; daughter, Jean (E. Michael) Bristol; son, William ( Mary ) Schott; grandchildren, Timothy Bristol, Mark (Chelsie) Bristol, Andrew (Melissa) Schott, and Katie (William) Erickson; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Carson, Wesley, Jordan, and Michael Bristol. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Lutheran Life Villages Chapel, 6701 South Anthony Blvd., with visitation one hour prior service. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Hockemeyer Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road.
